Shannon Smith is the Director of Coding and Reimbursement for DoctorsManagement as well as Director of the National Alliance of Medical Auditing Specialists. She has over 15 years extensive experience with auditing of all medical specialties, practice management, provider and employee education, billing, fee schedules, day-to-day office operations, marketing, and leadership.

Speaking nationally on regulatory issues involving Evaluation and Management and coding compliance, she is sought after as a consultant for numerous physician offices and an advisor to other medical associations. Her articles have appeared in Medical Notes, Tennessee Medical Association, and The Coding Institute’s Coding Alerts.

Mrs. Smith earned her Associates degree from the Augusta Technical Institute in Respiratory Therapy and is credentialed through the Professional Alliance of Health Care Specialist as a CMSCS, a CPC through the American Academy of Professional Coders, a Certified Professional Medical Auditor through the National Alliance of Medical Auditing Specialist, and also as a PMCC instructor also through the American Academy of Professional Coders.
