2021 E/M Changes Training Options
August 27, 2020
by Sean Weiss, Partner & VP of Compliance
2021 will be here before you know it and so will the changes impacting Office and Other Outpatient Services (99202-99215). NAMAS National Alliance of Medical Auditing Specialist has created 3 learning tracks for providers and staff to fit your learning preference.
The changes will be challenging given the vagueness in payer feedback regarding History and Exam not counting toward the overall level of service, which means Medical Decision-Making and/or Time in conjunction with “Medical Necessity” will drive your services. This will put pressure on provider documentation since it will rely more on clinical judgement than anything else.
I trust NAMAS and so should you!
(Karen – if you use this one, can we put in the NAMAS training options pdf as a pic? And maybe a download as well now that I think of it.)
